Bellydance Teacher and Performer

Zafira has danced professionally for many years. She has studied many different styles of dance such as: African dance, Show dance, Modern dance and Salsa and has been studying Gypsy Folk dance with Dr Gustáv and Else Balázs. Zafira is the director and choreographer of the dance group Al Noujoum and is also a member of the American Tribal Dance Group "Tanit Tribal".

Zafira has performed for television(SBS 6 and local TV) and in the Melkweg, Paradiso Vondelpark and Theater Fabriek in various theater productions (eg "Nixon in China" by John Adams) she has performed in many well known resterants(BirBey) and is to be seen regularly at Shibli and Anatolie.

Her interest in the Oriental dance began in 1994, which she has studied with inspired teachers such as Zaza Hassan and Mayodi (Paris), Tulay Kraca, Serpil Murtezaoglu, Sema Yildez (Turkey), Randa Kamal, Raqia Hassan, Diana (Cairo), Amani, Francoise Rahme, Georgette Garba, Sami Khoury (Lebanon), Catherine Ferguson, Carolena Nericcio (FCBD), Rachel Brice, Sharon Kiara (North-America) and Beata & Horacio Cifuentes,Nazir,Said el Amar, Dunya, Rana Miras (Europe)

Zafira is active in learning and developing new styles and techniques in this beautiful dance form.(Tribal and Tribal fusion).She is a member of the Oriental & Folkloric Assoc.based in Beriut(and is the representive of Amani in the Netherlands).

Apart from her interest in Dance, Zafira is also a certified yoga teacher (Dona Holleman & Teresa Caladas) and interested in BMC (Body, Mind Centering).
